Objectives
- Tune fractionation processes towards the isolation of high-quality lignin from waste streams
- Compare batch, semi-continuous and flow pre-treatment processes for optimal fractionation of waste streams
- Optimise pre-treatment processes towards process intensification
- Establish process parameters for sustainability assessment
Required education level
Master's degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Environmental chemistry, Chemical Engineering
Preferred background
Flow Chemistry, polymer chemistry, lignin chemistry
Secondments
- RUG (3 months) flow-through process for lignin fractionation and modification (P. Deuss)
- NPSP (6 months) Prepare different composites to be tested in waste stream fractionation protocol (W.Bottger)
- UG (3 months) modelling LCA of in-silico process (T. Stern)
